Casual swimming: Pupils can enjoy the swimming pool for general swimming exercise and also use the swimming lanes with the general public.
Swimming lane hire: Schools can hire out their own swimming lanes (maximum of 12 pupils in each swimming lane). School staff are responsible for the pupils while using the facility and should be present on poolside to oversee the pupils. If school staff are teaching or coaching pupils, a relevant swimming qualification is required and must be shown on booking.
Bournemouth Swimming Academy: The Bournemouth Borough Council’s learn to swim programme works in accordance with the new National Plan for Teaching Swimming, developed by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA). Bournemouth Swimming Academy can provide schools with qualified swimming teachers if required when hiring a swimming lane and can work with pupils of all abilities.
